Tiësto confirms new trance album is for 2026:

"I got re-inspired by trance music"

"I wasn't inspired for a long time, but now I've slowly been going through this process of bringing trance back [into my sound]... This is the path I'm going through — I'm not there yet, I mean I'm working on a new album and hopefully I'll finish it soon."

Tiësto has a new trance-leaning album in the works.

The legendary DJ and producer confirmed the news whilst speaking to DJ Mag backstage during EDC Las Vegas. "I got re-inspired by trance music," he said. "I wasn't inspired for a long time, but now I've slowly been going through this process of bringing trance back [into my sound]... This is the path I'm going through — I'm not there yet, I mean I'm working on a new album and hopefully I'll finish it soon."

Fans at EDC were treated to an early preview of this revitalised direction via 'Don't Lose Your Head', a new track from the Dutch artist which he described as having "very trance-y" elements. Featuring vocals from Olivia Sebastianelli, the track is set for official release on 29th May.  Tiësto Tracks

News of the forthcoming work comes around six months after the Dutch artist first teased a possible return to his roots, re-instating the logo from his his 1999 album 'Live At Innercity - Amsterdam RAI' across his online platforms and playing a trance-heavy set at Dreamstate festival in California.

This was followed by the release of 'Bring Me To Life' in November, a trance-leaning single he described at the time as being the first taste of what his 2026 album might sound like.

Back in March, Tiësto announced his first London headline show in eight years, an open-air trance event at the capital's Silverworks Island.

In his interview with DJ Mag, Tiësto also gave an insight into his pre-performance habits and shared his green room setup, which included a pair of CDJs and mixer, and a small video screen streaming live footage from the stage he was preparing to play. He then went on to share that his most cherished memory from past EDCs was his 2018 tribute to Avicii. Watch clips from the interview below.
